That is truly the COOLEST baseball website...
This could go on forever, but finding links between obscure, not-so-well-known current major leaguers and players from the turn of the century is quite addictive.
Here's linking HOF NY Giant pitcher Christy Mathewson with current Yankee 2B Robinson Cano...
Christy Mathewson played with Clarence Mitchell for the 1916 Cincinnati Reds
Clarence Mitchell played with Charlie Gelbert for the 1930 St. Louis Cardinals

I've noticed that Minnie Minoso (and one time appearances in each decade) is a bridge to MANY of the links between players in the 50's to players in the 70's and 80's...
But because he appeared (albeit as a novelty) in those games, he is in the record books and therefore on the roster of those Sox teams...
The Oracle doesn't lie. I've tried to beat it. I can't do it. Willie Keeler, Rico Carty, Kerry Woods, Ty Cobb, Bump Wills, Fernando Valenzuela, they're all connected. I got obscure. Still, the Oracle kicked my butt.

Why does this frighten me? And even more so, why is this SO addicting?
It was a cool way to look up some players - Mike Benjamin to Bobby Thompson, Satchel Paige to Jason Schmidt, etc...
I'm sure the programming of this thing would not be terribly complicated. But, I don't know. It might be hard for it to designate only one combination of players.
Sorry to drift off the topic a bit, but I just HAD to note in a gurgling-giggly sort of way that our header photo is no other than the infield from the field of dreams, a.k.a., Dodger Stadium. I just never expected a die-hard Giant fan to insert it. *smirk*
