Give up already!

Rant Mode On!

Does anyone still believe that going after Barry Bonds is not politically motivated? I mean the Federal Government has done everything in its power to prove that he's guilty except say that he has weapons of mass destruction and send in the marines! Yet, after millions of dollars spent on this grand jury investigation, they still don't have enough information to indict him? Give up already! What good is this investigation going to do? Even if you catch the guy? Even if you prove it? What will the ramifications be? This thing will just stretch on and on forever.

I used to think that Stars got special treatment before the law - that they could get out of jams the rest of us couldn't. But I'm starting to think that the law might be prejudiced the other way. If any one of us had used steroids, would the government be spending this much money to prove that we did it? And are the witnesses against Bonds the shadiest, most suspect group of witnesses since Michael Jackson's trial, or what?

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark, and it smells like its coming out of some prosecutor's asstericks!

Rant Mode Off!

I read a great article in the Chronicle today about the top guys under 25 in any position. Said some pretty nice things about Ryan Howard. I'm going to have to keep an eye on this kid.

Throw in the issues with Jason Grimsley (who surprisingly has received NO press since he was released by the D-backs) and the fact that it is KNOWN now pitchers have been using 'roids and HGH - the ongoing investigation of Bonds is CLEARLY politcally motivated by SOMEONE.

I don't deny that he's used 'roids - I believe that he did. But I also believe that many pitchers have as well. Where is the investigation there? Where is the investigation into Palmeiro and McGwire? Is it because they're no longer in the game while Bonds is still active?

It's getting ridiculous. And frankly, for the San Francisco Chronicle to continue to make this front page news only further proves to me that the Chronicle is a shoddy, worthless piece of recycling. My subscription would have ended long ago if there were another decent alternative that offered home delivery.

Andy, I can send you my L.A. times sports page. :)

Yeah, even I admit this whole Bonds circus is starting to reek with political agenda, and you KNOW Bud's in on this with his connections to congress.

Hey, everbody's used 'roids. My neighbor's pet chihuahua is on doggie 'roids. Seriously though, how many of them have "Bonds" on the back of their jersey on the way to 755? Besides all the hidden political agendas we may never know about until some conspiracy book is written, fact remains: the commissioner of baseball has all the pressure in the world to clean up the grand americana and make it the establishment "pure" again. And he's going to go after the biggest name, on the way to the biggiest record ever.
