Will the Real Dodgers Please Stand Up?

Following up on this post, the Dodgers have now won 10 in a row after losing 13 out of 14, hence, the title of this blog. This ties them for the Wild Card race with the Reds. Jeff Kent returned to the lineup and hit a two run jack and an RBI double last night. Nomahhhh returns from the DL tomorrow so the offense will be intact. And Maddux is coming off a 6 inning no-no.

Can these guys really win the west? Borrowing a line from ESPN's baseball tonite show, and you're the analyst, do you buy or sell?

I find it rather interesting. Before the Giants dove to the cellar, losing something like 15 of 16, and 9 straight, they were in first place by half a game. After all that losing, they're still only 4.5 games out. In the meantime, the-guys-down-there-
whose-name-I-can't-repeat, have won 11 in a row, and still aren't in first place. Go figure? Once again, the NL West is a complete crap shoot! Mark my words, before the season is over, we'll all be on top of the NL West again at some point. Its just a question of who's there on the last day.

Of course, does it really matter who wins the West? Sure, from a Norcal vs. SoCal perspective it matters for bragging rights, but ultimately, the NL West is all about wishful thinking.

Whoever wins the West loses the NLDS in a 3 game sweep.

I'd be willing to partake in a friendly wager at this point that A) The Dodgers will win the West and B)They WON'T be swept in the playoffs.

Never mind winning the NLDS! I'm a risk taker, but I ain't stupid.

Any takers? Is betting allowed in a Christian baseball blog? What are we betting? How about instead of something of monetary value, the winner gets to write one guest posting on the loser's main blog.

So who's in?????

Hmmm...interesting wager. Let me think about this. I think there are creative ways to make this work, and I like the guest post idea. But perhaps we need something a little more "in your face", too...
